Gallery IX: Ambigrams

In this project, students use rotational or reflectional symmetry to create an ambigram.

Directions: Using your first name (or nickname), create an inversion. As an alternative, you could use the name of a family member (this would make a very unique gift!) or the name of one of your favorite characters in a book, movie, etc. Your final design should be black ink or marker
(not pencil) on a white paper background.

*TIP: In order to ensure your design has perfect symmetry, draw half the design on graph paper. Next, put a blank white sheet of paper on top of the graph paper and trace the half-design. Then rotate the bottom paper and trace the remaining half of the final design onto the white paper.
